This is one of my favorite pieces. I wrote it back in the day during a late night on shift when I worked at a homeless shelter. It is pure imagery, hence "Collage." There is a lot of the imagery and metaphors I use revolve around water… and sinking… and being submerged. Water is one of my greatest influences. I grew up with a close connection to water, in a city surrounded by water. The Tao: Water overcomes rock. The lyrics seem all over the place but the common thread is the human struggle; The struggle to overcome the lower basal qualities and embody the higher spiritual qualities of the Divine.
